Our Story

An evening in 2021 at Paseo Nuevo in San Sebastian, Ana was trying a climbing boulder when Oier stepped in to offer to spot her. That moment of connection was just the beginning of many adventures, both at home and in different parts of the world. On April 30th, during sunset, right back where we met at Paseo Nuevo, Oier proposed, and Ana said yes.

Our tips for your visit

Transportation

Closest Airports

  • San Sebastian Airport (EAS): Located in Hondarribia, about 25-30 minutes drive to San Sebastian.
  • Biarritz Airport (BIQ), France: Approximately 45-50 minutes drive to San Sebastian.
  • Bilbao Airport (BIO): A larger international airport, about a 1 hour 15 minutes drive to San Sebastian.

Public Bus

  • If our provided wedding bus service schedule doesn't suit your needs, this is an alternative way to get to or from Astigarraga on your own.
  • The main lines covering this route are BU12 (Donostia - Astigarraga - Hernani) and BU13 (Donostia - Astigarraga - Hernani - Urnieta).
  • We recommend checking the exact schedules and stops on the Lurraldebus website or their mobile app to plan your journey.
  • Generally, buses run frequently, and the journey takes approximately 15 to 25 minutes.
  • Important for Saturday: There is a night bus service (Gautxori) connecting Donostia with Astigarraga on Saturday nights. This is the best option for returning late. It is crucial to check the specific timetables for the event night on the Lurraldebus website, as they may vary.

Recommendations

Accommodation

  • We recommend two main options for accommodation: staying in San Sebastian to enjoy the city, or in Astigarraga to be closer to the venue.
  • Options in San Sebastian:
  • Gros: A more local, surf-vibe neighborhood across the river, known for Zurriola Beach and great pintxo bars too.
  • Old Town (Parte Vieja): Perfect for being in the heart of the pintxo action and historic sites.
  • Centro (Downtown): Great for shopping, close to La Concha beach, and offers many elegant hotels.
  • Options in Astigarraga:
  • Pensión Txingurri: A great option close to the celebration. A special price can be arranged if you plan to book several rooms.
  • Casa Rural Artola: For those who prefer a more peaceful, rural stay.
  • We recommend booking your accommodation in advance, especially as October can still be a popular time to visit!
